Description

The Badger Seal design is a great way to improve the fit of a non-N95 mask (e.g. procedure, surgical, cotton) to reduce air leakage and improve mask efficiency. This very simple device is assembled in accordance with UW-Madison Badger Seal open source design specifications to high quality standards. The flexible nose bridge can be molded to create a tight seal at the top of the mask, which also reduces or eliminates glass fogging. The side tubes help to seal around the cheeks, while the elastic chin strap effectively impedes air entering from below.

In tests, the Badger Seal design was shown to increase filtration efficiency sixfold, from around 15% to 90% by reducing leakage.
