1983 Edmonton Wayne Gretzky Dollar, Gradeable Card,Coin

Description

This lot consists of a gem mint coin and display stats card of Wayne Gretzky  from the 1983 Edmonton Oilers Canadian Municipal Trade Dollars series.  The trade dollars were stuck onto the card with packing tape, and over the last twenty-five years the tape has oxidized to a golden tarnish which would hamper the discerning collector who wants a truly mint one.   We bought some coins directly from the Royal Canadian Mint, still in their sealed mint bag, and we bought out the distributor's original stock of the display cards and never really paid any attention to the demand for "graded-ten" items, other than regular cards.  Well, this is your chance to be the first to get one graded  as gem mint.  I've never actually seen any of the coins graded, even in their usual tarnished and circulated condition and of course I can't guarantee the opinion of your preferred grading system, but we have kept these in the back room for the last twenty-five years, and they are gem-mint.  Please ignore the poor scan images of the coin, it is fresh and mint.  The coin measures approx. 1 1/4" in diameter),  made of cupro-nickel, and the display card  approx. 3" x 9"  with the stats on the back.  (These were available in the Edmonton area only and were an actual trade dollar with an expiry date.)

NOTE:
The coins don't scan super well, but both sides of the Gretzky coin are visible in the scan if you look.   The coin that you get  with this is a mint state uncirculated coin, fresh from the mint, and never taped on to a card.
